R&D Coordinator

Aarschot, Belgium

As R&D Coordinator, you play a central role in driving technological innovation at Amnovis. You coordinate and structure our R&D activities, ensuring that research and development projects are executed efficiently, rigorously, and with a clear focus on industrial applicability.

You combine strong expertise in metallurgy with hands-on experience in industrial production environments, and you are capable of translating R&D activities into robust, scalable solutions. This is not a classical people manager role, but a content-driven, coordinating position focused on technical ownership, project execution, and funding management.

Application deadline: May 27, 2026

Your Tasks

  • Define and implement the Amnovis R&D roadmap
  • Manage the R&D team of 3 engineers: provide technical guidance, day2day coordination and hierarchical management
  • Set up a standardized R&D project workflow to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal and external R&D initiatives
  • Safeguard and further develop in-house expertise, with a clear focus on industrial relevance

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct execution and timely technical and financial reporting of all approved R&D and subsidized projects
  • Own the Amnovis R&D P&L: manage budgets and expenses for ongoing projects and secure future R&D funding by writing new project proposals for subsidized or commercial activities
  • Build and maintain an Amnovis IP strategy (identification, documentation, protection and valorization of knowhow)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with research institutes and academia

Your Profile

  • You hold an MSc in engineering or science and have 4–5 years of relevant experience. Strong and demonstrable knowledge of metallurgy is a conditio sine qua non
  • Industry experience in a (preferably highly regulated) production or manufacturing environment is a must
  • You have solid experience with additive manufacturing technologies, preferably metals, and ideally L-PBF
  • You are experienced in writing project proposals and securing funding. Specific experience with approved projects or reporting for VLAIO, the EU Commission, or ESA is a strong plus
  • Any experience with patent applications or IP protection processes is considered a strong plus
  • You have a commercial mindset and are comfortable presenting Amnovis’ R&D results at conferences or webinars, and you are motivated to interact directly with customers
  • You have professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • You can seamlessly switch between hands-on operational tasks and strategic thinking
  • You have a no-nonsense entrepreneurial mindset

Our Offer

  • A challenging job in a lean and mean scale-up company, with significant growth potential

  • Attractive salary package including extra-legal benefits
  • No ping-pong or pool tables at Amnovis (yet) ☹️, but we do have darts!
  • Working location with excellent connectivity to public transportation
